Richard or Saladin: Who was the hero?

In my opinion, neither shine a clear path onto who was the greater and more heroic, but, I think that Saladin was more merciful as he allowed and accepted the truce, tried to avoid killing people unless it was entirely necessary and, as, his hunting to bring a little girl back to her family and avoid a life of slavery shows, he was kindhearted and even tried to pay Richard the Lionheart to spare the lives’ of his followers.
